4 R's to Public Speaking Success & Confidence

Do you have a presentation looming? Following these 4 R’s to presentation preparation will ensure your public speaking success & confidence at the meeting.

Public Speaking Success & Confidence

The four R's are:-

R – Remember everyone gets nervous in the build-up to a presentation, even though they are unlikely to admit it to you. Acknowledge that any nerves you are feeling are entirely natural, then use them to drive your presentation preparation.

R – Rehearse your presentation in advance of the meeting. Ask your family, friends and colleagues for their feedback on what they liked and how your presentation can be made even better.

R – Record your rehearsals and live presentations using a video camera, your smartphone or even a laptop camera so you can view your performance. Ask yourself what you liked and what could be improved next time.

R – Review any questions asked during your presentation to see if any of the information presented can be improved or clarified.  Did your audience do or say anything that was unexpected and can be incorporated into your next presentation?

When you prepare in advance, take feedback and review your performance, you will rapidly see how much progress you have made in becoming a better, more confident public speaker.
